Here are the steps I took to get Jellyfin working, also with a tunarr server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course a fresh load, and boot into linux-lts. I had better luck with LTS kernel than shipped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\">\n\n<div class=\"codecolorer-container text blackboard\" style=\"overflow:auto;white-space:nowrap;width:800px;\"><table cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\"><tbody><tr><td class=\"line-numbers\"><div>1<br \/>2<br \/>3<br \/>4<br \/><\/div><\/td><td><div class=\"text codecolorer\">\/etc\/modprobe.d\/blacklist-nouveau.conf<br \/>\n<br \/>\nblacklist nouveau<br \/>\noptions nouveau modeset=0<\/div><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/div>\n\n<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Installing files we will need later:<br><br>As Root:<br>pacman -S &#8211;needed git base-devel dkms linux-headers linux-lts-headers nvtop<br><br>As User:<br>git clone <a href=\"https:\/\/aur.archlinux.org\/yay.git\">https:\/\/aur.archlinux.org\/yay.git<\/a> &amp;&amp; cd yay &amp;&amp; makepkg -si<br>yay -Syu<br>yay -S nvidia-580xx-dkms<br><br>As Root<br>nano \/etc\/mkinitcpio.conf<br><br>remove &#8220;kms&#8221; from the hooks section<br>reboot<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you come back, type &#8216;nvtop&#8217; to see if drivers are locked in, if not, do not proceed til 580 drivers are loaded<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">lspci -k<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check to see kernel driver for nvidia card says &#8220;nvidia&#8221;<br><br>If it does, Proceed<br><br>pacman -U <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.archlinux.org\/packages\/l\/libjxl\/libjxl-0.11.2-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst\">https:\/\/archive.archlinux.org\/packages\/l\/libjxl\/libjxl-0.11.2-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst<\/a><br>pacman -Ud <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.archlinux.org\/packages\/x\/x265\/x265-4.2-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst\">https:\/\/archive.archlinux.org\/packages\/x\/x265\/x265-4.2-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst<\/a><br>pacman -U <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.archlinux.org\/packages\/f\/ffmpeg\/ffmpeg-2%3A8.1.2-5-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst\">https:\/\/archive.archlinux.org\/packages\/f\/ffmpeg\/ffmpeg-2%3A8.1.2-5-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst<\/a><br><br>nano \/etc\/pacman.conf<br>Edit Ignore Package Line:<br><br>IgnorePkg = libbluray x265 ffmpeg<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now Install Jellyfin and Tunarr if you want<br>pacman -Sd jellyfin-server jellyfin-web<br>systemctl enable &#8211;now jellyfin<br><br>As User:<br><br>yay -S tunarr-bin<br><br>As Root:<br><br>whereis jellyfin.env<br><br>Edit Jellyfin.env file and make sure it points to the system FFMPEG and not jellyfin-ffmpeg<br>Also, within Tunarr, make sure it&#8217;s using system FFMPEG<br><br>Any issues, leave a comment<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few months ago, they made a lot of changes to nvidia GPUs, namely dropping Pascal support for the new driver.
